Below is the Vag Com data I pulled from a scan. The actuator is holding vacuum and the lines all seem to be in great shape. I inspected the wires and they look very good with no visual breaks or cracks. I have removed the connector to the actuator and it is clean, but there was one wire replaced and taped up about 10". It is throwing a 18996 - Turbocharger Boost Control Position Sensor Circuit code. I know how to hook up a Vag-Com and do a scan and clear codes, but as far as using it to diagnose anything, I am fairly incompetent and honestly quite lazy to read through everything. I have been trying to find the problem and not having a lot of luck. The turbo seems to work good when it is cold and when starting from a stand still and then it fades off. I was told the turbo needed to be replaced, but I gambled and bought it anyway. ![]() ![]() I recently updated my 2000 TDI to a 2005 TDI.
